Hi, there! I am a management consultant, evaluator, and product & service designer passionate about the intersection of public policy and technology. In my spare time, I also like to help people write college essays by utilizing my years of experience in college access, creative writing, and proposal writing. My hope is to help folks tell their own story and, if you're an organization, to help you better serve your customers.
As a management consultant, I worked with executives and leaders in the Federal Government to develop product and service strategies, deliver large scale transformations for multi-billion dollar program portfolios, and drive improvements to business processes. I have lead discovery and design for public interest technologies as a scrum master; implemented federal IT modernizations in change-resistant environments; product-managed the development of public-facing solutions to increase transparency in policy implementation; and consulted on environmental sustainability for leaders in Europe's transportation and hospitality industry.
Before consulting, I spent 5 years managing social services programs in Chicago, Illinois. Herein I worked to increase access and equity in higher education, affordable housing, healthcare, and financial supports for low-income families living in economically distressed neighborhoods. I lead organizations in connecting more than 600 households with vital social services and raising over $4 million dollars for community development initiatives. I also presented workshops to more than 400 professionals and youth, working with 826Chi, Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Public Libraries, and other community-based organizations.
My specialties as a DEIA practitioner include DEIA organizational strategy and curriculum development. To this end, I have conducted equity audits (e.g. at the process, program, and organization level) and facilitated the development of strategic DEI plans. My work in DEIA curriculum development has allowed me to deliver workshops to more than 400 working professionals and youth -- including workshops on inclusive leadership, racial equity in urban development, mentorship, culturally competent program evaluation, and LGBTQIA inclusivity in the workplace.
I am a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s quantitatively rigorous Master of Science in Public Policy & Management program. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies with a concentration in Urban Studies from Columbia College Chicago. I am also a first generation college graduate, a 2020 Hispanic Scholarship Fund Merit Scholar, a 2020 Leopold Schepp Foundation Scholar, and a 2015 Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow sponsored by the University of Michigan.
